We hope you’ve been having as great of a week as we have. Thanks to all of you for helping us exceed our funding goal! Over 500 fans have already backed the project to bring Stan and Ollie to their toy shelves, and we’re incredibly grateful.
To celebrate the campaign’s success, we’re happy to announce a stretch goal!
If we hit $60 K, we’ll unlock a new add-on – The Lodge Accessory Sets! Help Stan and Ollie get ready for a night out at the lodge! The set includes Stan's fez, Ollie's fez and their California banners. Packed in a fun trunk-like box that doubles as a prop for the figures (and is a handy place to store your extra figure parts). This will be $5 Add on, available in color or black and white (so be careful to choose the set that matches your figures!)

ICYMI: We had a wonderful chat with Nick Banks at Conskipper.com. He asked about the importance of capturing Laurel & Hardy’s instantly recognizable appearances, and Gavin explained, “These men are ICONIC! We worked with amazing sculptors and consultants to get the likeness just right for both. We also made a choice to make the hair a separate piece, so when you place the hair with hat on the head… the hat fits correctly. We want these figures to be as screen accurate as possible, so “toy” looking hats that fit strangely over the hair wasn’t going to do it, we decided to go the direction of FIGMA or Mafex type figures from Japan, that give you the ability to swap out “portraits”, hair, hat, etc…”
Here at Wandering Planet, we love to celebrate iconic, influential figures from pop culture history who were ahead of their time. Stan & Ollie, Nancy Drew, and The Prisoner all share a special place in our hearts thanks to their offbeat approach to storytelling. So we’re on the edge of our seats waiting for Monstrous Books’ new, top secret comic project featuring the one and only Carl Kolchak!

Wow! We had a great first week of the campaign and thanks to all of your enthusiastic support WE JUST FUNDED! THANK YOU!
We really appreciate everyone for backing these figures and sharing the news about the campaign with the Laurel & Hardy fans in their lives. Stan & Ollie mean a lot to us, and we’re so happy to have the chance to celebrate their legacy.
Also, a HUGE shout-out to all those first time backer/first time Kickstarter folks who have joined us on Kickstarter just to make these Laurel & Hardy figures happen. We appreciate it. Also a HUGE shout-out to those Super Backers and folks we recognize from our previous Wandering Planet campaigns. As you know, we couldn’t do it without all of you. Last week, we connected with our designer Jennifer Moore and Fanbase Press’s Barbra Dillon to talk about the figures! Jennifer explained that “The rich visual legacy [Laurel and Hardy] left behind is a goldmine of inspiration. I hope that our passion and attention to detail shine through and resonate with customers when they see the final product!” We couldn’t have said it better ourselves!
This week marks the 97th anniversary of “Sailors Beware.” Directed by Fred Guiol and Hal Yates and written by Hal Roach and H.M. Walker, this silent short highlights how incredible the chemistry between Stan & Ollie even early on in their collaboration. If you haven’t seen this one before, it is definitely worth a watch!

Speaking of classics… Director Remsy Atassi is creating a documentary about one of our favorite DC comics - KINGDOME COME!

We had a chance to talk about Laurel & Hardy’s legacy and these new figures with the folks at Comic Book Club. It was great to be able to reflect on the duo’s influence. Gavin explained that “Their comedy and MASSIVE amount of talent really ignited my love for film and for classic film when I was young and impressionable… all these years later I find their humor and raw talent really holds up. They are masters of what they do… which is to entertain people and make people laugh. What a gift, right?”
Around here, we love classic horror almost as much as we love classic comedies! So, you know we’re thrilled to see that Orlok Press’ second volume of Matt Wagner and Kelley Jones’ Dracula The Impaler is coming to Kickstarter soon!
